Criteria for selecting campus outreach venues

• Is this an under-served institution and/or will there be a significant number of under-served people attending?
• Is there a local champion (faculty, administrator, CIO staff) available to assist in engaging multiple people from campus and/or the region to attend the sessions?
• Is there a local planning team available to work with the TG outreach team to help tailor the outreach session agenda to address the needs of the participants?
• Are there TG users already on campus or in the region that will be able to participate and discuss their use of TG with their peers?
• Are there local faculty with identified needs and interests to learn more about TeraGrid?
• Are there multiple nearby institutions that may benefit from a regional forum?
• Is there a good geographic distribution among the venues selected?
• Is there an appropriate balance among the types of institutions - MSIs, EPSCoR institutions, Women’s Colleges, rural colleges, etc?
• Will participants include faculty, administrators, students and CIO staff?

Selecting Professional Society Meetings

Criteria for selecting professional society meetings

• Will there be significant participation by under-served communities?
• Will there be opportunities for TeraGrid to conduct presentations, tutorials, exhibits, and BOFs to facilitate formal and informal interactions with participants?
• Does the meeting attract faculty who are likely to have HPC needs?
• Is there an appropriate balance among under-served communities (women, minorities, and people with disabilities), as well as domains of science
• Will there be a significant participation by faculty and TeraGrid Campus Champions?
