The TeraGrid Shibboleth testbed has sparked a great deal of interest from various corners of the community. We're using this page to collect the various expressions of interest and tie them to anticipated connection points with the overall testbed roadmap. Each institution lists notes a Institutional Contact and a TeraGrid contact noting who is the prime liaison in each case. The category "General Expressions of Interest" spans a wide degree of commitment/interest from folks who are interested in principal, but no strong statements of intent to participate, to those who have expressed strong commitment, but no current decision on when/how to engage.

Contents

Phase 1 Participants (Jan - March 2007)

This phase is closed at this point. We are not soliciting more participants as we need to demonstrate proof of concept with a few institutions/resources before widening the net. The campus infrastructures participating are: Purdue, UChicago, and UIUC

Phase 2 Participants (April - June 2007)

We are still soliciting participants for this phase and have not yet made selections. The criteria are that there is a demonstrable benefit to science (education) that can be achieved in the testbed, that the science team have strong current capabilities in at least 2 of the following 3 categories: utilization of TG resources, utilization of Campus resources using Shibboleth infrastructure, Campus Infrastructure engagement and willingness to participate.

Current Institutions in discussion:

  • Clemson - Definitely interested for participation at this phase. Contacts are Barry Johnson, Sebastien Goasguen, and Mike Gossett.
  • Stanford - ?
  • Indiana - ?
  • Penn State - Kevin Morooney (CIO) expressed significant interest in participating during a conversation with SteveO after the Sausage BoF at the Internet2 Member Meeting in December 06.

Early Deployment Participants (August - December 2007)

If the testbed is successful and the project takes the decision to proceed toward deployment, then the intention is to work with any institution in inCommon who wishes to be an early deployment participant and help work with us to a) develop the integration process and b) debug the various issues/usage cases.

  • Penn State - Renee Shuey (sp ?)

General Expressions of Interest

There have been specific conversations between campus leadership and TeraGrid testbed leadership indicating a credible match and desire to participate in some way. That way has not yet become clear and/or been agreed.

  • TIGRE and the Texas Shibboleth Federation - Alan Sill
